"Commercial Advertiser," January 29, 1935, pg. 3 the article states that Mrs. Payson recalled that one of the Rice girls, sisters of her mother married James Randall. Another married George Barber. She said "Laura" married James Randall. After researching further, I found the first names of Mrs. Barber (Mahala), also "Amanda" married a Barber. Harriet Bassett was a Rice girl. From there I found the other Rice girls. Harriet's obit stated she was the daughter of Adolphus and Ruth Knight and was born in Pamelia, Jefferson, New York, family moved to Lowville, Lewis, New York and staid there for 18 yrs, thus Laura being the third daughter was born in Lowville in 1822.
12. Willis Rash was born in Jan 1818 in , , Kentucky and died 3 Feb. 1901 in , Jackson Co, Iowa. Willis married Julia Stone after 1851 in Wisconsin.
Note:
Willis was living with his daughter Elizabeth in the 1900 Census in Iowa. Death date was found in the "Old Settlers Association-Mary Rogers-Bradley" on Ancestry.com. Julia's birthdate was taken from her tombstone which states she was 34 years 9 months and 14 days.
